Lynwood Unified sixth-grade students got a glimpse into their futures during the District’s inaugural Explore Your Future College and Career Day, where they learned about diverse career paths, higher education options and career technical education opportunities available at Lynwood and Firebaugh high schools.
The day-long event, which took place on November 30 at Bateman Hall, featured a mixture of colleges, industry partners and CTE high school students who inspired hundreds of enthusiastic sixth-graders from across the District’s 12 elementary schools to envision and pursue their future aspirations.
Students engaged with professionals from various industries – including public safety, military, gaming and medicine, among others – who shared insights into their respective fields. They also participated in interactive presentations and hands-on activities that provided a glimpse into CTE programs offered within the District, including robotics, biomedical sciences, film and photography and more.
By bringing together industry professionals and higher education representatives and shedding light on the robust CTE programs offered at the District, Lynwood Unified is committed to empowering students to make informed decisions about their futures from an early age while preparing them for success beyond graduation.
